Generative art that flows across a mesh of ESP32 screens
Gadget, Medium
Maks Surguy's small displays run one piece of generative art across several screens over an ESP32 mesh. The art changes every minute, or when someone touches the round AMOLED.
The setup mixes a T-QT Pro, a Raspberry Pi with Waveshare displays and an ESP32-S3 1.75-inch round AMOLED touch display. The boards talk over a mesh network, so the artwork moves from one screen to the next. It changes on its own every minute or when you touch it.
Maks got the touch display syncing with his other mini art displays on a bus ride home from a Claude Code meetup. The post doesn't link any code. His site is linked below.
Ideas to try with it
Our ideas, not the builder's claims.
- Put one screen on your robot so it joins the art wall when it docks
- Let a touch on one screen change the palette on all of them
