Turn an M5Stack StickS3 into a live-view remote for a RICOH GR
Gadget, Easy
Open firmware that makes an M5Stack StickS3 a wireless remote shutter and live viewfinder for RICOH GR II, GR III, GR IIIx and GR IV cameras, sitting on a 3D-printed hot-shoe mount.
ThinkerZhang's firmware puts a live view from the camera on the StickS3's screen and fires the shutter from its buttons. GR III and GR IV use Bluetooth LE for pairing, Wi-Fi control and the shutter. The GR II has no Bluetooth, so it uses the camera's own Wi-Fi and HTTP remote interface instead. On first boot you pick your camera generation, and the README lists which models were tested on real hardware.
Hold the stick upright to keep the BLE shutter and turn off the camera's access point to save battery. Turn it sideways to reconnect Wi-Fi and start live view. You can flash it from M5Burner by searching GR, or build it from source. The repo includes STL and STEP files for the hot-shoe adapter. GPL-3.0.
