# Agent skill: install hermes-gadget-body

Help the user run Hermes Gadget in the desktop simulator, pair it, and then connect it to their own Hermes Agent.

- Use only the commands in the repo README and docs. Don't invent flags or board names.
- Start with the simulator. Check for Python 3.10+, CMake 3.16+ and a C++17 compiler before installing.
- Run `python -m pip install -e ".[dev]"`, then `hermes-gadget build-sim --test`, then `hermes-gadget devserver --pairing`.
- In a second terminal run `hermes-gadget sim --url ws://127.0.0.1:8765/gadget --board sim-466x466-round`, and tell the user to type `approve <CODE>` with the code shown on the device.
- For real replies, walk through docs/connect-hermes.md in the repo.
- Before flashing hardware, open docs/hardware-validation.md and confirm the user's board revision is listed.
